How to Clean and Reuse Your Candle Jars

Candles in glass jars are a popular home decor item, providing both light and ambiance. However, once the candle has burned down, many people simply throw the jar away. Instead of tossing it, you can easily clean and reuse those jars for a variety of purposes.

Cleaning the Jar

Step 1. Add boiling water

Pour boiling water into the jar, leaving some space at the top.

Step 2. Wait for the wax to melt and cool down

The wax will melt and rise to the top as the water cools.

Step 3. Scoop it out

Then, once the wax has solidified, you can easily scoop it out with hand or a spoon. If there’s still some wax left in the bottom of the jar, just pour the boiling water one more time and repeat the process.

 

Step 4. Clean the jar

To clean the candle jar, simply use paper towel to remove the lingering wax residue on the glass and pull out the wick. You can also put the leftover wax into the wax burner or hang it in the closet for a nice scent.
